WHAT IS REIKI

WHAT IS REIKI?

Reiki is the life energy that flows through all living things.  It is a Japanese word meaning Rei – universal life and Ki – energy.  An ancient knowledge rediscovered in the 1800s by Dr Mikao Usui and is now practiced across the globe.  This gentle healing therapy draws upon the universal energy to improve health and wellbeing, working to restore balance and clarity to the body by reinforcing it’s natural ability to self-heal physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.  The therapy always focuses on the individual’s highest good and works to clear any stagnant energy which has been acting as a block to the individual’s wellbeing.

The gentle, non-invasive therapy makes it suitable for all and compliments conventional medicine.   It can be effective in relieving physical and emotional pain as well as increasing and raising your energetic vibration. This in turn revitalises, rebalances and re-energises, allowing for a deeper connection to Self, others, nature and can bring a spiritual awareness. Everyone has the ability to connect to their own healing energy and use it to strengthen their energy within; making it strong and free flowing.

WHAT TO EXPECT...

During your Reiki treatment you will remain fully clothed in a warm, tranquil environment.  Within this safe space we will open a conversation that can be as brief or detailed as you wish.  Whilst receiving Reiki I will lightly place my hands on different spaces on the body starting at the head and finishing at the feet. You may feel heat or experience a gentle tingling sensation and a sense of calm and quiet will likely wash over you as the treatment progresses.  As the treatment draws to a close I will bring your awareness back to the room and encourage you to drink water to support the detoxification of your body.  The session will close with a reflective conversation on your experience.  On leaving, continue to hydrate your body and opt for a gentler day.  As with all complementary therapies, regular sessions are encouraged for long term benefits.

THE 7 CHAKRAS

Everything has a form of energy, the human body is a mass of compressed magnetic energy and scientists refer to this as the bioelectrical field.  However, in the Eastern world the term for this energy that surrounds the body is the aura.

Within the human aura there are 7 energy centres which are known as chakras.Your aura is there to protect you and these 7 invisible wheels of energy keep us vibrant and healthy. They run through the trunk of the body and correspond to massive bundles of nerve centres that link to major organs as well as connecting to our emotional and spiritual wellbeing.
